a darker side to Aphrodite’s nature, as a chthonic Goddess of love, sex and death. As the “brightly shining” Goddess, who rises from the dark oceanic depths of potentiality, Aphrodite reveals herself to be a vital force in both the making and unmaking of the cosmos.
